Logo Colors & Meaning
The colors for the 2013 Pounding the Pavement for a Cure logo were specifically chosen in memory of founders Anna Grace Buchanan and Cara Lee Crawford's loved ones they lost to cancer. Anna Grace's father, Dr. Doug Buchanan, battled liver and pancreatic cancer for two months. He passed away in June of 2012. Cara Lee's grandfather, Mr. Bob Crawford, battled liver and colon cancer for 10 months. He passed away in January of 2013. Dr. Buchanan and Mr. Crawford are greatly missed.
The logo represents the official cancer awareness colors for pancreatic, liver, and colon cancer. The pancreatic cancer awareness color is purple, the liver cancer awareness color is green, and the colon cancer awareness color is blue.
